2020 Virtual Annual 5k Remembrance Walk/Run Raises More Than $18,000 for Patient Care and Services

Two hundred members of the community raised more than $18,000 for the 2020 virtual annual 5k Remembrance Walk/Run of Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties held in October. Proceeds from the event support the mission of Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, a not-for-profit, community-based hospice serving patients in their homes, extended care and assisted living facilities, and Lorelei’s Place in Franklin.   

“We are grateful to the community for its support of the mission of Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Sydney Truax, event organizer. “In addition to our sponsors, I would like to thank all participants for their support, understanding and patience during our first-ever virtual walk.” 

Through community support, Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties is able to provide superior care and superior services to anyone in the community facing life-limiting illnesses, regardless of their ability to pay.  Proceeds raised from the event also help Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties provide grief support at no cost to anyone in the community; provide complementary services such as respiratory care, massage, music and art therapy; and provide palliative care to patients whose chronic  disease compromises their quality of life.

This year’s presenting sponsors were Greg and Patti Atkinson. The partner sponsors were AK Steel and Kettering Health Network. Friends sponsors were LCNB National Bank, VFW Auxiliary Post 6069 and Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home.
